NEW DELHI, AUGUST 11: A circular from the University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed the University of Mumbai to reserve two seats for students from Jammu and Kashmir in technical colleges that have at least one course approved by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
Earlier, the UGC had asked the university to reserve two seats in all its colleges, including those without NBA-approved courses, for Jammu and Kashmir students under the supernumerary quota.
“The quota remains the same for all other colleges except that the UGC has added that technical colleges should have at least one NBA-accredited course. Earlier, it was for all recognized higher education institutes,” said Registrar MA Khan.
The technical institutes, engineering, pharmacy and architecture colleges must be approved by the All India Council of Technical Education apart from the NBA accreditation.
