1 dies; 137 fresh cases in J&K

Tawi, Dec 24: Jammu and Friday reported one more death and 137 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,317.

 

With one more death, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,519 and 137 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 340,434.

 

Of the exact number of 340,434 cases, 214,463 are from Kashmir division and 125,971 from Jammu division.

 

Among 137 new cases, 117 belong to Kashmir division while as 20 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 214,463 including 211,048 recoveries and 2,323 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 125,971 including 123,437 recoveries and 2,196 deaths.

 

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,317 including 979 from Kashmir division and 338 from Jammu division.

 

With 142 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 334,598 which is 98.28 percent of the total cases.

 

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 58 from Srinagar, 07 from Baramulla, 08 from Budgam, 06 from Pulwama, 10 from Kupwara, 09 from Anantnag, 08 from Bandipora, 10 from Ganderbal, 01 each from Kulgam amd Shopian in Kashmir division while as 14 from Jammu, 0 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 05 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 01 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
