Doda, October 25: A woman has been arrested by police for beheading her husband and father –in-law in mountainous district Doda in and on Tuesday. She hatched the murder plot with her paramour.

The incident happed around 50 kilometers way from district headquarters in Bari-Marmat village of Doda on intervening night of 23-24 October.

Police said it was learnt reliably at police station, Assar that one Reenu Devi wife of Sham Lal of Barri has allegedly murdered her husband namely Sham Lal and father-in-law Sunito Ram son of Gaddu Ram in connivance with Om Parkash son of Chuni Lal of Barri and others.

Police party headed by SHO, Assar Farooq Ahmed immediately swung into action and visited the spot and launched a manhunt to trace out the dead bodies. During the course of further investigation and search, the Police party succeeded to trace out the dead bodies of both the deceased persons, which were concealed by the accused persons in the nearby land of Om Parkash at village Barri Marmat.

In preliminary police investigations came up that the accused Reenu Devi (40) wife of Sham Lal allegedly had an illicit relation with her paramour Om Prakash and they hatched the conspiracy with few others to eliminate him.

Sarpanch, Barri-Marmat said, “it's very shocking incident, which has created shock waves among villagers, we want stringent punishment against the murderers. They have not even to spare an old and ailing who cannot even heard or see properly.”

The dead bodies of both the deceased persons have been handed over to their legal heirs for last rites after completing all legal formalities.

Police said they have arrested two accused Reenu Devi and Dess Raj, however manhunt is launched to trace out other accused Suram Chand, Girdhari Lal, Sanjay Kumar and her paramour Om Prakash.

In this regard, case FIR No.  29/2016 U/S 302/450/201 RPC stands registered at P/S Assar and investigation is going on.
