Srinagar: In an untoward incident, militans opened fire on security forces in Nowhatta area of Srinagar on Monday.
In the sudden attack five security personnel were injured. The gunfight between the forces and militants is still going on.
The unspecified number of militants fired at the security forces in the area which is close to the historic Jama Masjid.
