At a time when the Modi government is working hard to improve the Indian railways, passengers continue to be plagued by dismal services.
SPIDER IN CURD
A passenger on board the Howrah bound Shatabdi Express has alleged that he found a spider in the food served on the train.
Choton Malik was travelling from Malda to Howrah with his daughter today when he noticed a spider in the curd served with lunch on the train. He immediately brought the incident to the notice of the pantry, but says officials did not take it seriously. Malik alleges that they even refused to replace the lunch pack.
“Near the Bolpur station we found a spider in the curd served for lunch. We complained to the pantry officials but they ignored it.
Shatabdi is one of the most renowned trains and such standards are not acceptable,” Mr Malik said after lodging a formal complaint with the Deputy Station Master at Howrah. He has also lodged a separate complaint directly using the IRCTC helpline number.
NOT THE FIRST TIME
This is not the first time such an incident has been reported on board the Shatabdi Express.
In May this year, a passenger travelling on the Howrah Shatabdi Express was in for a shock when he found a cockroach in an omelette he was served for breakfast. Similarly in January, a passenger travelling on the Chandigarh-New Delhi Shatabdi Express had complained that a cockroach was found in the breakfast served to her.
