Pre-poll campaigning begins, Separatists for boycott

Date:

, March 20 (KIP):-While the PDP has initiated its pre-poll
campaign in Srinagar and Anantnag Lok Sabha polls and the opposition
NC and the Congress too have joined the pre-poll campaign f ray but
the separate ists are engaged in seeking response to their call for
poll boycott. In their past LS and Assembly polls voters did not fully
respond to the boycott call given by separatists and it is to be seen
whether their call will force the voters stay indoors on the days of
polling.

In fact the NC and the Congress leaders have stepped up
anti-PDP campaign. Omar Abdullah is in the forefront of those trying
to either instigate Chief Minister,Mehbooba Mufti or motivating her to
snap ties with the BJP.

Once the PDP snaps ties with the BJP it would result in the
hung Assembly and the only alternative for the centre is to impose
Governor's rule to be followed by fresh Assembly elections. But
indications are that Mehbooba is not ready to fall pr ey to the
criticism launched by Omar Abdullah..Omar has chided Mehbooba for
having forged an alliance with th e BJP which has installed Yogi
Adityanath as Chief Minister of UP. Omar has gone to the extent of
describing the Yogi as a staunch anti Muslim feelings. Omar has
tweeted for Mehbooba that the Yogi is the same BJP leader who had
sought rape of even dead Muslim women.

Omar is trying to provoke Mehbooba to snap ties with the BJP so
that in the event fresh Assembly elections were held NC and the
Congress could gain peoples' mandate. However, the PDP in its campaign
started its campaign has  accused the opposition Conference
(NC) and Congress of being responsible for alienating Jamaat-e-Islami,
Awami Action Committee, Peoples Conference and other parties who were
once part of poll process.

Launching its campaign for the parliamentary by-polls for the
Srinagar-Budgam constituency, a PDP spokesman said, “It is the NC and
Congress that alienated Jamaat-e-Islamia, Peoples Conference, Awami
Action Committee and others who were once part of the election
process.”

He said the parties should be held accountable for this political
error which had ever since left trail of destruction behind and the
State continues to reel under violence and instability.

Holding NC and Congress responsible for the political instability and
people's sufferings, PDP said it hoped the electorate would again give
their verdict against the troubling NC-Congress alliance (KIP)
