Ministers' security grid to be upgraded
Jammu Tawi, October 25 (KIP):- The state Government has suggested to the
police authorities to upgrade the security grid in and around official
residences of ministers and their ancestral houses.
This instruction has gone after a senior PDP leader and
Minister, Abdul Rehman Veeri, had a narrow escape when militants
attacked his ancestral house. Veeri was safe because he was not inside
the house.
Official sources said that wherever the need was felt the
police guard could be assisted by the paramilitary forces so that
during sudden attacks militants were not able to snatch weapons from
the police.
Sources said that as far as the security grid is concerned the
number of men deputed to guard the ministers should be increased.
Similar increase was to be done as far as the escorts are concerned.
Ministers have been told to st ay in the official residences
and avoid as much possible visiting their ancestral houses so that
militants failed to get a chance to target the ministers.
In addition to this the union Home Ministry has directed the
BSF and the CRPF to make available additional companies of forces
which could be deployed on the IB where from Kathua to Akhnoor
Pakistani troops a nd the Rangers have become active in targeting
civilian house. Once there was some soft ceasefire violation the
Indian troops should retaliate with force and fury so that Pak gunners
were forced silence their guns.(KIP)
