Lashkar sends Rs 1.5 lakh terror consignment in Tiffin box

Tawi | July 20: Security forces busted a terror-funding module of proscribed terror organisation Lashkar-E-Taiba (LeT) carrying Rs 1.5 lakh cash hidden in tiffin boxes in Jammu on Monday.

On the basis of information received from sources, the Special Operations Group Jammu and the Indian Army busted the terror funding module of the Lashkar-e-Taiba.

One accused identified as Mubashir Bhat, a resident of Doda in Jammu has been arrested in the case.

Bhat had been tasked by LeT handlers from across the border to visit Jammu and collect a consignment of hawala money for further use by terrorists.

During the search, one bag containing Rs 1.5 lakh was recovered in a tiffin box from Bhat's belongings.

Initial questioning revealed that the money was sent by Haroon alias Khubaib of the LeT who was based in Pakistan and it was to be delivered to terrorists through their overground structure based in Doda.

A case has been registered in Peer Mitha Police Station under various section of IPC and UAPA.

A top officer dealing with the probe said, “There is a test identification parade to be carried out. There are at least 3-4 suspects in the case. We will be making further arrests in the next few days.”
