: India and Pakistan today held flag meeting second time in a week and discussed border issues along IB in Kathua sector of Jammu region.

 

“Around one-hour long Commandant Wing Commandant Level meeting was held at Border Pillar no-15 on Indian request in Kathua sector on Border,” official spokesperson here said. He said that Pakistan side delegation was headed by Lt Col Asmat Ullah Khan Wing Commander and three other Officers while own side delegation was led by Bhupinder Singh and K Ganesh, Commandant BSF and five other officers.

 

After welcoming the delegation, Indian side raised agenda points like Firing on BSF troops from Pak Land, Repeated objections raised by Pak Rangers on maintenance work in bordering area by BSF, Hunting by Pak persons close to Border area and not responding to BSF requests for holding Coy Commander level Border Contacts.

 

“Own side also objected the firing held in AOR of BOP Bobiya in month of October 2016 in which Pak people fired with Rockets and automatic weapons,” said the spokesman. He said that Pak Rangers assured that they want to maintain good relations with Counter part Border Guarding forces and  such meetings should be arranged more frequently in the bordering areas.

 

Pak Rangers also raised few objections like burning of Sarkanda and whose fire later enter into there territory and destroy telephone wires and other things, he added. The spokesman said that the meeting held in  cordial manner and ended with exchange of sweets from both the sides agreeing to maintain peace and tranquillity on International Border.  (AGENCIES)
