Hurriyat urges Pak High Commission for Indo-Pak dialogue

Srinagar, Mar 24 (KNS): A day after Pakistan Day was observed in New Delhi at Pakistan embassy, Hurriyat leaders Friday held a 3-hour long meeting with Pak High Commission to Abdul Basit and pitched for dialogue between India and Pakistan.

The Hurriyat leaders which included Hurriyat (M) leaders Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Masroor Abbas, Musadiq Adil among others.

Sources told KNS that the leaders discussed present situation with Basit and urged him to start dialogue with India to resolve the dispute.

Sources said that Basit shared the concerns of the Pakistan government and the country and reiterated his stand for Kashmir at the level.

“The leaders also discussed with the High Commission the situation that arose after the uprising of 2016 and the oppression unleashed by Indian forces on protesters,” sources said.

Pakistan High Commission yesterday observed Pakistan Day at the embassy which was attended by a large number of invitees from Kashmir and India. (KNS)
