Dissent in PDP

With one of the two PDP Ministers resigned in the wake of their ignoring in the cabinet expansion, Mr. Basharat Bukhari resuming the office, the crisis in the PDP does not seems to be near settlement as the other one Mr. Imran Ansari did not retreat even after much persuasion by CM Mrs Mehbooba Mufti and other senior PDP leaders.

Even the party's main dissenter Lok Sabha Member Mr. Tariq Karra, who accused his own party for alienating people and resigning his Lok Sabha Seat and party has not given that serious blow as it was in today' context. The Uncle of Imran Asari, Mr. Abid Ansari a powerful Shia leader and MLA from Zadibal has openly revolted against the party accusing two PDP leaders Mr. Nayeem Akhtar and Mr. Mansoor for ruining the party in the Valley.

The faultline in the party, therefore, seemingly is not due the stand taken by the Chief Minister but interference by the two named stalwarts whom the resenting Shia leaders feel not safe for the party.

The infighting in the party which turned two leaders to resign their cabinet position and several other MLAs as party rebels has not yet turned too ugly for the ruling party. The dismay of many leaders from the beginning of the coalition government in the state expressed their concerns around several issues. Party insiders claim even after months of the reformation of the ruling coalition, it remains the root cause for the dissent within the party.

While there is all possibility of Mehbooba with the help of his kin in the party to overcome the crisis, the development has sown the genesis of any future crisis in days to come that will not be beneficial for the coalition in J&K.
