SVC's show cause notice draws flak

Srinagar, Feb 05 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Kargil has stung a surprise by refusing to adhere to the orders of the government on implementation of e-tendering system and has said that he is bound to go by the decisions of Kargil hill development council but not the State Government.

Sources while disclosing this to KNS revealed that Deputy Commissioner Kargil in response to the recommendations of State Vigilance Commission has said that Kargil Hill development council has asked him not to implement the e-tendering system and as such he would abide by the directives of the Kargil autonomous hill development council.

When Deputy Commissioner's attention was drawn to State Government's orders on implementation of e-tendering system the Deputy Commission is reported to have said that he has to abide by the decisions of the Kargil autonomous hill development council.

Sources also said that Deputy Commissioner has not bothered to reply even a show cause notice of the State Vigilance Commission on the implementation of e-tendering.

When contacted a top official of the State Vigilance Commission on conditions of anonymity told KNS “though the commission took up the issue with Chief Secretary but the government didn't call for any explanation from the Deputy Commissioner on this count. (KNS)
