CM to convince PM, HM to enter dialogue with Pak and separatists

Date:

Tawi, July 22: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, is leaving for New
Delhi to apprise the central leaders about the latest security
situation in following the killing of 49 people as a result of
clashes between protesters and  security forces over the killing of
Hizbul Mujahideen ‘commander' Burhan Wani.

Does it mean that the BJP led NDA Government, especially Prime
Minister, Narendra Modi and the union Home Minister, Rajnath
Singh, are unaware of the latest security scenario in Kashmir? Certainly
not. The Union Home Minister and the Prime Minister receive minute to
minute reports about the situation in Kashmir and there is no need
for Mehbooba to apprise them of the security scenario because Rajnath
Singh and Modi have better awareness of the reports on security
situation in Kashmir.

What then is the purpose of Mehbooba visiting New Delhi. Her
purpose, according to informed sources, was to convince the BJP top
leaders about the need for reopening of channels of dialogue with
separatists and Pakistan. Mehbooba believes that once New Delhi keep
Islamabad and Kashmiri separatists engaged in the process of dialogue
they will not have time in triggering violence in the valley.

In fact this is the decision that was taken during an All
Party meet in Srinagar on Thursday. The PDP leadership moved the idea
of reopening of the process of dialogue with Pakistan and separatists
and other parties endorsed it. The BJP was not very candid about its
support but those present in the meeting had to support Mehbooba's
idea.

Hence Mehbooba will try to persuade the central Government leadership to reopen the doors of dialogue with the separatists who had been playing a dirty role during the 14-day
turmoil in Kashmir.
