Jammu Tawi: The Jammu Police claimed to have recovered a large quantity of cannabis and demonetised notes from a truck near Kunjwani Chowk area of the city, yesterday.

As per reports, the police were acting on a tip-off when they intercepted the truck and recovered 10 kilograms of cannabis and Rs 10 lakh in scrapped Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.

The driver has reportedly told the police that he had picked up the consignment from Anantnag in South for delivering it in Jammu.

News agency reports that in another incident, a man was arrested and 20 bottles of banned syrup, 540 intoxicant capsules and 165 tablets were recovered from his possession in the Salehar area in Arnia.
